International March of Diekirch is an annual, international march that was first organized by the Luxembourg Army in 1968. Locals and tourists from all around the region surrounding Luxembourg attend this annual event. Those who finish the march are awarded the Diekirch Medal, which commemorates John of Luxembourg (1296–1346), a Luxembourg king who ruled Bohemia from 1310 to 1346 during the 14th century.
